Teen poets from across the Charlotte-Mecklenburg area will take the stage at Goodyear Arts in Camp North End to compete using originally written poems. Preselected adult judges from the community will score each poem while audience members go crazy supporting their favorite lines, metaphors, and performances. Youth poets of all experience levels are encouraged to attend and if motivated then to step in and compete as well. Competing poets earn points at each monthly slam as they attempt to qualify for Finals in April to represent BreatheINK and Charlotte, NC at the 2024 Brave New Voices International Youth Poetry Slam.
