Active professionally since 2001, Matt Cosper is an artist and educator working in theatre and performance. Directing credits include: The Maids, Hamlet, The Bald Soprano, Someone Who’ll Watch Over Me, The Divine Sister, Macbeth, The Dumbwaiter, The Tempest, The Crucible, Gnit, Antigone, Twelfth Night, The Pirates of Penzance and The Trojan Women. In 2009 Cosper founded the experimental troupe XOXO, and has served since then as the group’s Artistic Director. Original works created with the company include Mum’s The Word, ThomThom (if that bird won’t sing), #CAKE(Year Zero), All The Dogs And Horses and Bohemian Grove. Cosper was a Charlotte Magazine Best of the Best award winner for Playwrighting in 2013 and XOXO won a BOB for Best Theatre Troupe in 2016. From 2015-2017 Cosper served on the faculty of Spoleto Study Abroad, creating original theatre works with students in Spoleto, Italy. He is currently the director of Theatre Arts at Charlotte Latin School.
